Review: OPI Shatter

Retailing at £15(ish)(correct me if I'm wrong please guys)I would normally see this as pretty steep but I bought it on QVC with the mini katy perry collection which cost me £24 with p&p and I was really desperate for KP's nail polishes so the shatter was an added bonus.

Ive tried the Barry M instant nail effects (retails under £5) and like all Barry M nail polishes, I found it too clumpy and chipped too easily despite top-coats and light application. I personally think this with all of the Barry M nail polish collection, their only positive is their wide colour selection. Perfect for one night but any longer than that your left with chipped, gross nails.

So I applied 2 coats of "teenage dream" which is a pink glitter, on its own it has enough colour to wear alone and then I added the "shatter". It has a matt effect which means you need to add a top coat to create the shine. The shatter dried quickly and I was left with an even application of shatter effects upon my nails. It has so far survived the night out and still remains in good quality on my nails.

Personally I will always choose OPI Shatter over Barry M nail effects. When it comes to the crunch for me it just has a much better appearance at the final hurdle, only down size is the price.
