Inspiration searching.

So as I sat at my desk in the "office" I looked at my blank screen, wondering what the hell I was going to write about??! I had nothing! Absolutley nothing! I could literally of sat here all day with a blank screen, nothing was coming to me. So my housemate and all round Geek wanted to go into town and get some comics so he persuaded me to go with him.

We decided to go to the Library and see what was in there, I picked up a couple of books on internet businesses, because, I'm going to be honest here, I have no idea what I'm doing. I kid.... kind of. Ahem any way!

But I then sat down with an absolutely beautiful book;

I've been trying to use different sources for inspirations and the images in this book were very much what I was looking for today!

The styling of the earlier photos from the 1960's were very basic, the only jewellery worn were earrings, in particular large studded earrings. I did notice from these images that there was a complete lack of necklaces, and that most the outfits were worn high on the neck.

As the book progressed through the 1960's, towards the end the 1960's size and show of earrings began to grow. Moving away from the glamorous studs towards the more plastic styled hoops.

By the time I reached the 1970's era of the book I was completely engrossed. From the photos of this era you can seeing a change in the images of the book, the jewellery is now about statement pieces. Wearing both large necklaces and large earrings, and not to mention the more flamboyant outfits as the images head into the 80's.

The 1980's images show a different kind of woman, she is now a power dresser. More accessories, more detailing on the clothing, more colour.

Overall this book has saved the day today, its totally given me a lease of life to write about something out of my comfort zone whilst still being able to see the relevence with the work that we do on scarlett hearts. We may not be the next YSL, but even still we have been given our inspiration for the day!
